At first, I thought Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike was going to be a chance to just zone out and enjoy sitting still for a couple of hours. Wrong again, Bob.
Making a Checkov-inspired play funny may sound impossible. But Christopher Durang figured it out, and the performances were great fun to watch. There were at least four monologues that had the audience in hysterics. Here’s an excerpt from one, as it’s just getting started:
